Aggies finish eighth at Lady Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Texas A&M carded a 296 in the final round of the Lady Tar Heel Invitational on Sunday, finishing eighth in a field of 18 teams at Finley Golf Course.

Duke captured the title with a 54-hole score of 877, nipping Tennessee (879) by just two strokes. Duke's Amanda Blumenherst was the medalist with a 7-under-par total of 71-68-70 - 209.

A&M had three players tie for 19th place - sophomore Danielle McVeigh (75-75-72 - 222), sophomore Ashley Freeman (77-72-73 - 222) and freshman Sarah Zwartynski (75-73-74 - 222). Junior Lauren Johnson (75-74-77 - 226) tied for 39th, and junior Jodi Neal finished 88th (87-78-78 - 243).
