
TULSA, Okla. - Texas A&M tennis players Matt Bain, Chris Chirico and Kayvon Karimi were eliminated during the second round of prequalifying for the All-American Tennis Championship on Sunday. Senior Bain, sophomore transfer Chirico and freshman Karimi each won their qualifier openers. Bain beat Cal Poly's Darryn Young 6-0, 6-2, while Chirico defeated Ohio State's Ty Schaub, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, and Karimi outlasted Cleveland State's Ryan Hamning 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. A&M sophomore Brad Williams lost in the opening round to Samford's Jordan Delass 6-3, 7-5. In the second round, Bain fell to Montana State's Kyle McDonald 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Chirico was eliminated with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 loss to Arizona's Jay Goldman. Karimi was knocked out with a 6-1, 6-2 loss to UTSA's Robin Fernandes.
