Ags' Hebert claims Top 10 finish at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Texas A&M's David Hebert took seventh at the 52nd running of the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday. Hebert's ran the 8,000-meter course in 24 minutes, 8 seconds. Texas A&M placed 13th out of 23 with 314 points. Notre Dame won the men's title with 92 points.

Liberty's Joshua McDougal was the individual winner in 23:37.

"I was a little surprised with my time," said Hebert, who ran a 24:59 last year on the same course. "Even during the race I was surprised to hear what my splits were during the first two miles."

A&M's Kevin Ondrasek finished 59th with a 24:58. He improved his time from last year's race by nearly a minute. Rounding out the scoring five for the Aggies were Nick Toohey (69th, 25:08), Joe Sauvageau (85th, 25:26) and Brian Lind (94th, 25:30).

The A&M women's team placed 16th with a score of 370 points. Rice, who won the Texas A&M Invitational last weekend, claimed the team title with 118 points.

Sarah Balfour was the first Aggie to complete the 6,000-meter course. She placed 26th in 17:32. Christina Munoz was the next A&M runner in 48th place with a time of 17:49. The remainder of the Aggies who scored toward the team title were Christina Munoz (48th, 17:49), Brenna Williamson (67th, 18:00), Alie Cornell (115th, 18:42) and Kasey McNorton (125th, 18:52).
