SATURDAY: Texas A&M 7, Kansas 0 RECORDS: A&M (33-6, 6-3 Big 12), Kansas (27-15-1, 3-5) NEXT: A&M at Kansas, noon Sunday LAWRENCE, Kan. - Amanda Scarborough hit two triples and scored three runs, and Megan Gibson threw her sixth shutout of the season as the fifth-ranked Texas A&M softball team beat Kansas 7-0 at Arrocha Ballpark on Saturday. Scarborough led off the third inning with her fourth triple of the season, and the Aggies (33-6, 6-3 Big 12) eventually took a 2-0 lead. A&M added three runs in the fourth, highlighted by Alex Reynolds' two-run single. Scarborough then led off the fifth with her second triple of the day, eventually scoring on a single by Jamie Hinshaw, who scored on Reynolds' third base hit of the game. "I liked the way we took our walks when the Kansas pitchers gave them to us," A&M head coach Jo Evans said. "That's a big key. It sets the table and then it only takes a hit to make something happen. I think that was the difference early on, being able to set the table, score and stay patient at the plate." Gibson (14-2) allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out six over seven innings.
Baylor 4, Oklahoma State 3: WACO - Senior catcher Chelsi Lake hit a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Baylor past Oklahoma State 4-3 at Getterman Stadium on Saturday.
Baylor (38-9, 8-0 Big 12) won its 12th straight game to remain in first place in the Big 12.
Nebraska 5, Texas 4, 11 innings: LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska senior Jamie Waldecker's single and a Texas error on the play lifted the Cornhuskers past the Longhorns 5-4 in the 11th inning in front of 671 at Bowlin Stadium on Saturday.
With runners on first and third and no outs, Waldecker ripped the first pitch she saw into left field to drive in sophomore Crystal Carwile, who had been placed on second to start the inning in accordance with the international tie breaker.
Texas left fielder Torrey Schroeder made a sliding attempt to stop Waldecker's single, but the ball skipped past her allowing senior Devin Porter to score all the way from first.
Iowa State 3, Texas Tech 0: AMES, Iowa Ð Ashley Killeen drove in two runs, including the 100th of her career, and Alyssa Ransom tossed a two-hit shutout as Iowa State beat Texas Tech 3-0 to pick up its first Big 12 victory of the season.
Ransom (10-11) held the Red Raiders (17-21, 0-7 Big 12) hitless through 4 2/3 innings, then limited Tech to three hits the rest of the way for Iowa State (22-30, 1-6).
