No. 2 softball squad sweeps Stephen F. Austin

Megan Gibson, Holly Ridley and Joy Davis each blasted a home run as the second-ranked Texas A&M softball team run-ruled the Stephen F. Austin LadyJacks in back-to-back games, winning 8-0 and 9-1 on Wednesday doubleheader at the Aggie Softball Complex.

As a team, A&M (12-0) managed 25 hits on the day. Every Aggie in the starting lineup logged at least one hit in the doubleheader.

Gibson's solo shot in the second inning of Game 1 was her third homer of the season, bringing her within seven long-balls of the Aggie career record.

The Aggies travel to Arizona this weekend to face the fourth-ranked Wildcats in a three-game series in Tucson. Friday's Game 1 is set for 8 p.m.
