A&M softball sweeps two more games in Arizona

TEMPE, Ariz. - Megan Gibson went a combined 4-for-5 with three runs scored to help 13th-ranked Texas A&M earn two more victories on Day 2 of the Kajikawa Classic on Saturday as the Aggies beat third-ranked UCLA 5-4 and Utah 10-3.

The Aggies (4-0) will face top-ranked Arizona at noon Sunday to close out their play at the Kajikawa Classic

Gibson went 2 for 2 and scored a pair of runs in A&M's win against UCLA (1-2).

Aggie left fielder Jami Lobpries drove in Joy Davis for the game-winning run in the fourth inning, when A&M broke a 4-4 tie.

Davis reached after being hit by a pitch, stole second and advanced to third on a ground-out by Sharonda McDonald. Lobpries then singled in Davis.

Amanda Scarborough (2-0) earned the victory in the circle, pitching a complete-game, four-hitter while striking out four and walking two.

Gibson then went 2 for 3 and scored a run in A&M's victory over Utah (0-2-1). The junior also threw six innings, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out seven to earn the victory and move to 2-0. She didn't issue a walk.
