AGGIE WOMEN RISE IN AP

The Texas A&M women's basketball team moved up another two spots in the Associated Press Womens' Top 25 poll after beating Oklahoma State and Kansas this week.

The Aggies are now ranked #16 in the AP poll. Other ranked Big 12 teams are: #12 Oklahoma, #15 Baylor and
#21 Nebraska.

The women's ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll will not be released until Tuesday.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M men's basketball team rose in the polls after a week that saw them dominating Iowa State at home and accomplishing the Herculean task of stopping Kansas in Lawrence. A&M's 69-66 victory on Saturday night marked the first time a Big 12 south team has won at Allen Fieldhouse since the inception of the conference in 1996.

The A&M men's basketball team is now ranked #6 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and #7 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Top 25 poll. Last week, the Aggies were ranked #10 by the AP and #8 by ESPN/USA Today, respectively.

Other Big 12 teams ranked this week are: Kansas (#9 AP/#7 ESPN), Oklahoma State (#17 in both) and Texas (#25 ESPN).

Also announced Monday was the selection of Texas A&M senior point guard Acie Law IV as Big 12 Player of the Week. Law lead the Aggies with 23 points in their thrilling comeback against then-#6 Kansas on national television Saturday night, scoring ten of A&M's final 13 points in the game.

It is the second time in his career that Law has won the honor. He was previously named Player of the Week after making a game-winning three-point shot against rival Texas in 2006.

Texas A&M will continue conference play this week with a nationally televised (ESPN) game against #25 Texas at 8:00 p.m. tonight at Reed Arena. On Saturday, the Aggies will travel to Lincoln for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against unranked Nebraska.
